Magic Goat Reads the Comics!

Just the other day I took the opportunity to read the comics in the Sunday paper. As a kid I thought reading the comics was a special treat. I didn't really understand any of the jokes, but I assumed that it was because I was a kid. Now that I'm older, I still don't understand any of the jokes, and I realize that it is because the comic strips are stupid. A perfect example is the cryptic Family Circus. I'm still convinced the weekly picture in a circle is some secret message to government spies. For instance:

HUH?! Maybe it's just me, but I just don't find that too comical. In fact, I can't even figure out how it makes sense. Why is no one else concerned at the exteme lack of comedy in the so called "comics"? In my opinion, comics should have me convulsing with laughter as I roll about on the ground like I've got a gopher in my pants. Such was my mindset when I read the comics last sunday and came across a "classic" known as:

Easily the least funniest thing i've ever seen. Now, I am aware that Rex Morgan is not meant to be funny, but rather a probing look into real life situations and medical dramas. And yet I argue, if this is the case, WHY IS IT IN THE COMICS?!? According to the dictionary, comic means:
1) Characteristic of or having to do with comedy, Amusing; humorous
None of which apply to Rex Morgan MD. It does, however fit in with all the other comics in the paper, in that it doesn't make any sense. For instance, examine the following excerpts...

HAHAHAH!!!! Oh Man!! That was rich. I particularly liked the part with the doctor in it.
Oh wait....

Even if you consider that Rex Morgan MD is an ongoing story, the above frames STILL don't make any sense. Here's the whole strip if you so desire.

So, since this strip is supposed to deal with real life situations, I thought I'd see if I could actually make Rex Morgan MD interact with real life. I took the quotes out of the "comic" strip seen above and, armed with such realistic and common dialouge as this, I blended them with some real-life situations. Enjoy the results...
